Urban Developer Awards finalist Ripple House

Ripple House named finalist in The Urban Developer Awards 2025

Urban Developer Awards recognition marks another proud moment for Zane Carter Architects, with Ripple House named as a finalist in The Urban Developer Awards for Industry Excellence 2025.

In addition, the judges shortlisted Ripple House in the category Development of the Year, Small-Scale Residential (1 to 3 Dwellings). As a result, the project sits alongside a strong national group of boutique residential developments.

For our team, this recognition reinforces the role thoughtful residential design can play in creating homes that feel functional, enduring and commercially considered.

Urban Developer Awards recognition for Ripple House

The Urban Developer Awards recognise the people, projects and ideas shaping cities across Australia and New Zealand.

In 2025, the program included more than 200 finalists across 28 categories. In particular, the small-scale residential category celebrates projects that set a high standard in boutique residential design and delivery.

The judges recognised Ripple House for its careful response to a compact site. Specifically, the design brings natural light into the centre of the plan and creates spaces that feel calm, connected and liveable.

Finalists: Development of the Year, Small-Scale Residential

We feel honoured to appear alongside an exceptional group of developers and architects who continue to raise the standard for small-scale residential design across Australia.

  • DUNE, Graya Developments
  • Pembroke Place, Makespark
  • LYNCH, Mancini Made
  • OSBORNE, Mancini Made
  • Palmera, Noosa, Molti
  • Genesis, Oviss Group
  • Sea, Sammut Group
  • Lime, Shore Projects
  • Glasshouse, Spyre
  • Ripple House, Zane Carter Architects

Together, these projects show how considered design can create homes that feel intelligent, liveable and carefully crafted.

A home designed with purpose

Ripple House responds to the movement of light, water and daily life. Its curved forms, custom screen and central double-height void bring openness and softness into an attached dwelling.

In addition, every detail, from planning to material selection, considers how the home will feel over time. Therefore, the residence balances architectural expression with privacy, comfort and everyday function.

The gala night

The Urban Developer celebrated the 2025 winners at a black-tie gala dinner at The Star Gold Coast. In addition, the event formed part of Urbanity and brought together leaders from Australia’s architecture, property and development sectors.

For our team, the gala also offered a chance to celebrate creativity, connect with peers and recognise the innovation driving the industry forward.

Recognition that reflects purpose

Being named a finalist reinforces our belief that architecture informed by intelligence and humanity delivers lasting value.

Ripple House reflects our approach to creating homes that respond to real site and market conditions. At the same time, the project supports the people who live within it.

In addition, the layout, natural light and material selection all work together to bring calm, connection and confidence to daily life.

Thank you

We extend our congratulations to all fellow finalists and winners at The Urban Developer Awards 2025.

Ultimately, we feel privileged to stand among such respected and forward-thinking peers in the industry.

This recognition marks a proud moment for our practice and for Ripple House itself. More importantly, it reflects what we stand for at Zane Carter Architects: purposeful, intelligent and human design.
