Ripple House featured in CO-architecture
We’re pleased to share that Ripple House has been featured in CO-architecture, recognising the project for its sculptural approach to light, form and compact residential design.
Located in a bayside setting, Ripple House transforms a compact duplex into a calm and highly resolved home. Curved architectural forms, a custom wave-inspired screen and a central double-height void work together to bring softness, movement and natural light into the residence.
A compact home with a sculptural response
The design was shaped around the idea of movement. Rather than relying on straight lines and rigid transitions, the home uses curved forms to create a sense of continuity throughout the interior.
A custom metal screen, designed by architect Sam Alawie, references the movement of water and filters light across the façade. As the sun shifts throughout the day, the screen casts changing shadows, giving the home a quiet sense of rhythm and depth.
Bringing light into the centre of the home
At the heart of Ripple House is a central double-height void that draws daylight deep into the plan. This move helps the home feel open and connected, despite the constraints of an attached dwelling.
Carefully positioned skylights and glazing allow light to move through the interior, reducing the feeling of enclosure and creating moments of brightness, reflection and calm.
Architecture shaped by water, light and daily life
Ripple House reflects our approach to residential architecture: resolving complex spatial challenges through thoughtful planning, refined detailing and a strong connection to site.
More than a residence, the project is an immersive living environment where architecture, light and materiality work together to support everyday life.
