Breezeway

Where the Byron hills meet a home that breathes.

About

Location:

Byron Hinterlands

Design:

Zane Carter Architects

Year:

2025

Land size:

40 acres

Set across 40 acres of rolling Byron hinterland, the home is anchored gently into the hill, its timber forms separated by a sculpted breezeway that frames the valley and pulls the prevailing winds through the heart of the building. Designed to feel both grounded and open, the residence uses natural materials, warm textures and long horizontal lines to echo the rhythm of the land. The breezeway becomes the defining gesture - a threshold of air, sky and connection that links the two wings while creating a moment of calm transition.
